Worlington Church Fete 2025 at East Worlington House on Saturday 2nd August 20205, starts at 2pm.
Dear Campie and All at Riverside Rocks,
Thank you for your continued support of Devon Air Ambulance, with rock, jazz and blues in East Worlington at Riverside Rocks. We hope everyone enjoyed their picnics and the live music! Please find attached a certificate, as a token of our appreciation.
Last month, we were tasked to a total of 171 incidents, with an average of 5 missions each day. 101 missions involved the deployment of our helicopter, 62 involving Critical Care Cars, and 8 with our Volunteer Responder Team respectively.
The busiest days of the week were Mondays. 10 missions took us across county borders: 6 in Somerset, 2 in Dorset and 2 in Cornwall. Cardiac Arrests were the most common reason for us to be called to help. Falls were the second most common reason.
17 missions were tasked to us during the hours of darkness. The Royal Devon & Exeter (RD&E) was the hospital we visited the most, whereby we transported 30 patients.
In our 33 years, thanks to your support, we have responded to 35,012 missions overall – a massive milestone! This is only possible thanks to the kindness of people who donate to Devon Air Ambulance. Thank you for your important part in this!
Best wishes,
Alice Mercer

The VE80 Exhibition in the Parish Hall was put together by the local history group (contact: history@ewph.uk) and ran over the two days Fri/Sat 9-10 May 2025, as well as Sunday brunch on 11th May.
The exhibition hosted three school parties on Friday together with several local residents popping in, and sometimes returning later in the day to complete the tour. Saturday was busy and Sunday was even busier but we’re sure the brunch was a big factor in people attending then.
Feedback from all visitors was very positive and we collected some additional stories and memories from people to add to our archive. It was hard work but enjoyable and very rewarding.
If you didn’t get to the Hall then you can see the exhibition display panels on our VE80 Exhibition page.
You can see some of the the visitors at the exhibition here:
The exhibition was produced by the history group comprising (in alphabetical order):
| Steve Baber | Martin Bond | Miya Bond |
| Liz Guppy | Sandi Houghton | Gavin Manton |
| Lorna Manton | Wendy Percival |
We want to thank all the local residents who agreed to be interviewed, and for supplying memories and photographs from the WWII era.
And a heartfelt thanks to all who gave up their time to attend the exhbition.

The annual Crocus and Cream Teas event this year is held on two Sundays.
This event supports the National Garden Scheme and its chosen charities. East Worlington House is the location where thousands of purple crocuses feature in the 2-acre garden, set in a lovely position with views down the valley to Little Dart River. These spectacular crocuses have spread over many years through the garden and into the neighbouring churchyard. Walks from the garden across the river and into the woods. Dogs on leads please. The delicious Cream Teas are available in East Worlington Parish Hall, a grade 2 listed converted Tythe Barn, adjacent to East Worlington House. Crocus and Cream Teas Volunteers Request Once again, the wonderful Crocus and Cream Tea event at the Parish Hall to support the Open Gardens at East Worlington House will soon be upon us.
