National Garden Scheme at East Worlington House open from 1:30pm-5:00pm on Sundays 1st & 8th March 2026: entry £6, children free, proceeds to NGS charity.
We had approx 257 people through the garden over the two Sundays. The weather wasn’t great so we were very surprised anyone came at all!
We raised just over £1,500 for the NGS caring charities.
The teas were amazing as usual. Everyone saying they didn’t know which cake to choose!
The teas raised just over £1,114 for the parish hall upkeep.
Thank you to everyone who helped over the last two Sundays. Cake makers, waitresses, washer uppers, car parkers, raffle ticket sellers, garden advisers, visitors and kind people who donated to the cause.
Without your help and support this event would not be possible.
Amanda and Campie
Once again, the wonderful Crocus and Cream Tea event at East Worlington House & Parish Hall will soon be upon us. This year’s dates are 1st and the 8th March from 1:30pm-5pm to accompany the NGS Open Garden at Worlington House.
We are calling on all the fabulous Worlington bakers for cakes on these days. So, if you are able to bake a cake or scones on either of the days and/or provide jams etc we would be delighted to hear from you.
The hall will be open from 10am on both these Sundays, so you can drop off your cakes or leave them on Campie’s porch. A reminder to please label tins so they can find their way home.
We are looking for volunteers for both of these dates from 1.30 to 5pm, to help with serving and clearing the teas. Also we need help with the car parking.
Thank you to those who have already offered their help on these days. It’s very much appreciated
Please email Amanda to let her know what you are able to help with.
Thank you in advance for all you help

The 2025 Christmas Lunch will be on Wednesday, 10th December 2025 12:00 for 12:30 start.
Wednesday 29th October 2025, starts at 6:30pm. Very important and informative free training event run by South Western Ambulance Service.
Everyone is welcome. Clear instructions are given on the use of the defibrillator, located outside the Parish Hall, and CPR. The British Heart Foundation states on their website: CPR ‘could be the most important lesson you ever learn’.
Each year in the UK there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. With early CPR and defibrillation shown to more than double the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest. But less than one in ten people survive, often because those around them don’t have the skills or confidence to perform CPR.
To be held at the village hall on Friday, 24th October, doors open at 7.00pm to eat at 7.30pm.
Two courses for £22.50 per person (menu below), alternative meals avaliable and gluten free catered for.
Proceeds and raffle in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society & East Worlington Parish Hall. Please bring cash for the raffle.
A great Worlington tradition returns! Back by popular request the 2025 Harvest Supper will be held at 7pm on Saturday 4th October in the Parish Hall. The Worlington Churches team will be laying on cottage pie, delicious puddings and a musical entertainment for everyone to join in. Tickets, including a free welcome drink when you arrive, cost £12.
Just make your reservation with Alice Rhodes (alice.rhodes@btinternet.com), Charles Mills (charles@denhams.digital) or Patrick Brook (brook@rullfarm.com) and we will collect payment at the door.
Our lovely Harvest Festival service will then take place at East Church, as usual, at 11.15am on the following day, 5th October.
The VE80 Exhibition in the Parish Hall was put together by the local history group (contact: history@ewph.uk) and ran over the two days Fri/Sat 9-10 May 2025, as well as Sunday brunch on 11th May.
The exhibition hosted three school parties on Friday together with several local residents popping in, and sometimes returning later in the day to complete the tour. Saturday was busy and Sunday was even busier but we’re sure the brunch was a big factor in people attending then.
Feedback from all visitors was very positive and we collected some additional stories and memories from people to add to our archive. It was hard work but enjoyable and very rewarding.
If you didn’t get to the Hall then you can see the exhibition display panels on our VE80 Exhibition page.
You can see some of the the visitors at the exhibition here:
The exhibition was produced by the history group comprising (in alphabetical order):
| Steve Baber | Martin Bond | Miya Bond |
| Liz Guppy | Sandi Houghton | Gavin Manton |
| Lorna Manton | Wendy Percival |
We want to thank all the local residents who agreed to be interviewed, and for supplying memories and photographs from the WWII era.
And a heartfelt thanks to all who gave up their time to attend the exhbition.
As part of the national VE Day 80th Anniversary celebrations the local history group are presenting a “Worlington in Wartime” exhibition in the Parish Hall on: Friday 9th and Saturday 10th May, 11am-4pm and during Sunday Brunch on the 11th May.
