To create a new article just Log In, click on the New menu and select Page (or follow this Add New Page link).
Make sure you give your post a Title and then edit your page using the edit styling icons (heading styles are available under the drop down list currently set to Paragraph).
Remember to regularly Save a Draft copy (button upper right) which will save you changes back to the server but does not yet make the page publicly available. At any time you can use the Preview button (top right) to view the page.
For each article you will need to configure the following items:
- Define the article Title
- On the right hand side of the page find the Page Attributes section and in the Parent list of pages choose your parent page (the folder under which to store your article); ask the Web Site Administrator for guidance if you are not sure where your article should go.
- On the right hand side of the page also in the Page Attributes section select the Template for the general are your page belongs to: EWPH Hall, EWPH Heritage or EWPH Community (please do not use the other templates).
- Optionally set a menu icon for the slide out menu. Below the main editing window you will see a section called Side Menu Icon and a box labelled Icon Name. In that box type in the name of the Font Awesome Icon you want to use prefixing the name with fa-. The icon for a house (home) would be fa-home, or a check mark fa-check. Just choose an icon that represents the concept behind your page; it doesn’t matter if the icon is used on another page as long as it isn’t in the same side menu. The default icon for a page is fa-angle-right.
When you ready use the Publish button upper right of the page to make the post publicly visible. Until you publish your post no one will be able to see it.
If your page is a child of a parent page that automatically generates links for the child pages you should make sure your first paragraph is a short summary of what is on the page. The link on the parent page will include this summary below the page title.
If you go wrong and want to abandon your changes just click in the View Page on the black dashboard menu bar (top of screen) and click on the Leave Page in the button when you are warned you have unsaved edits.
When it is published you may want to let everyone know by asking for a post on Twitter or Facebook using our Contact Form.
