The prizes were given away by Miss Payne, the Rectory, West Worlington, in the presences of many visitors.
During the past year the school has been held at fourteen different places – four of which obtained double classes – and 176 pupils passed through the courses and obtained certificates.
In a pastoral county l1ke Devon – adapted, as it naturally is. for helng essentially a dairy county – w1th its fine breed of cows and rich pastures – the work of technical instruction in improved methods of dairy practice is welcomed by all progressive minds.
The principle of absolute cleanliness is strongly enforced by the teachers as the sole secret of success in dairy work. The production of first-class butter, cream, or cheese is impossible if the cream and milk are not of good flavour and free from taint of any kind.
