On Friday February 27th prior to our Heritage Project Launch event Peter Heaton-Jones, the conservative candidate for the North Devon parliamentary constituency, visited the Parish Hall and met with members of the Heritage Project Group to discuss the Heritage Project activities and plans for the Hall.
Peter discussed with us our heritage project and contributed suggestions for raising local awareness of the hall as a community resource. He had some useful input into our need for ongoing funding, not only to keep the building in good repair, but also to improve the hall facilities.
Peter was very encouraging and supportive of the need to ensure rural communities retained an identity and worked to support each other and how the parish hall should continue to be an essential part of the East and West Worlington community.
Apart from Peter the meeting was attended by Steve Baber, Martin Bond, Liz Guppy, Gavin Manton and Lorna Manton.
