Crocus and Cream Tea 2026

Post Event update

We had approx 257 people through the garden over the two Sundays. The weather wasn’t great so we were very surprised anyone came at all!

We raised just over £1,500 for the NGS caring charities.

The teas were amazing as usual. Everyone saying they didn’t know which cake to choose!

The teas raised just over £1,114 for the parish hall upkeep.

Thank you to everyone who helped over the last two Sundays. Cake makers, waitresses, washer uppers, car parkers, raffle ticket sellers, garden advisers, visitors and kind people who donated to the cause.

Without your help and support this event would not be possible.

Amanda and Campie

Event Details

Once again, the wonderful Crocus and Cream Tea event at East Worlington House & Parish Hall will soon be upon us.  This year’s dates are 1st and the 8th March from 1:30pm-5pm to accompany the NGS Open Garden at Worlington House.

Amanda, Maggie and Lindsey and taking on the task of organising the Cream Teas but, of course, are in need of your help.

Cakes or Scones

We are calling on all the fabulous Worlington bakers for cakes on these days. So, if you are able to bake a cake or scones on either of the days and/or provide jams etc we would be delighted to hear from you.

The hall will be open from 10am on both these Sundays, so you can drop off your cakes or leave them on Campie’s porch. A reminder to please label tins so they can find their way home.

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers for both of these dates from 1.30 to 5pm, to help with serving and clearing the teas. Also we need help with the car parking.

Thank you to those who have already offered their help on these days. It’s very much appreciated

Everyone is welcome. Clear instructions are given on the use of the defibrillator, located outside the Parish Hall, and CPR. The British Heart Foundation states on their website: CPR ‘could be the most important lesson you ever learn’.

Each year in the UK there are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. With early CPR and defibrillation shown to more than double the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest. But less than one in ten people survive, often because those around them don’t have the skills or confidence to perform CPR.

Community Awareness Helps Us to Keep Safe

Community Awareness Helps Us to Keep Safe

East Worlington and the surrounding area has very low incidents of crime, which contributes to the enjoyment and feeling of security in living in this locality. However, we should not be complacent and one of the ways we can help ourselves and our community is to stay aware and be alert.

A recent incident is a good example of information-sharing helping us all to stay aware and be alert.

‘A light blue possibly metallic 2005 style Nissan XTrail vehicle has been seen visiting local properties.

A farm managed to catch some images on cameras which seem to have deterred their interest.’

So be aware and stay alert

If you do not wish to receive emails about East Worlington community events and information updates, please reply to this email to request removal from the distribution list.
