Further research was then undertaken, primarily using the information from the 10-yearly England Census. This Census was held every 10 years from 1841 until 1921 and the 1939 Register which was conducted in that year due to the war and the 1941 Census was not conducted. While the 10 year Census continued after the war, from 1951, information is only publicly available 100 years after the event. Most of the references identify the Head of family as a publican / inn keeper, however some also had additional or different occupations. The different Census information shows that there was a regular turn over of residents / inn keepers and the size of their families and visitors (others present on Census day).1841 Robert Cruwys (Publican)1851 William Lee (Cordwainer)1861 John Parish (Carpenter)1871 William Hosegood (Inn Keeper)1881 William Hosegood (Inn Keeper)1891 Richard Butt (Inn Keeper and Farmer)1901 John Ware ( Inn Keeper)1911 Francis Keenor ( Licenced Victuller)1921 Ernest Edworthy ( Licenced Victuller and Forestry)1939 Edward Osborne (Inn Keeper and Smallholder) Attached Files:Stucley Arms Residents V3.xlsx Reference created by: Steve Baber on 16-Apr-2025
