Drayford Bridge prior to new bridge c 1912 Drayford Bridge prior to new bridge c 1912 DR1 1912 Buildings, Drayford Martin Bond

House on left foreground possible clockmaker.

The packhorse bridge at Drayford is marked on Donne's Map of 1765 but dated from long before that.  It carried the "Great Road to Exeter" from South Molton in those days. In 1811 a special rate was levied on properties for the repair of Drayford and Worlington Bridges.  It was so narrow that, as the photo shows, carts had to use the ford.

Worlympics 2000 and presentation of Millenium Mugs Worlympics 2000 and presentation of Millenium Mugs 2000 Events, People, East Worlington Martin Bond
I believe it was taken by Terry Brown - it was taken at the 2000 Worlympics.

Each of the Parish children was given a Millennium mug - I did the chosen design, and at the time of the photo I had just been presented with a beautiful bouquet by Sir Hugh.

I have drawn a transparent numbered overlay to fit over the photo - see my list for those already identified. Hopefully correct!

The original photo is too hi-res to store as a photo so that and the overlay/list of names have been saved to the research database. The overlay is stored as a separate photo.
