Did you know the site before the property was built? Not really, buy we know it was the orchard of the pub that was once in the village (The Stucley Arms, which was the property above PW – it’s now 2 houses. The Reynolds family lived in one of them, not sure if they are still there)
-
What approximately was the date it was built? Around 1976/77
-
Who built it? An Exeter builder called Cox and his friend called Boothway built both PW and DH as their own homes
-
Were your parents the first residents? No, the Boothways lived in PW first (him, his wife and their son)
-
How long did you and your parents live there? Moved in in December 1978 and sold in Autumn 2000, after Malcolm Jenkins died
-
Do you know who has owned and /or lived in the property? Boothways, then Jenkins then one other couple before you bought it (sorry can’t remember their name)
-
Do you have any info about the next door property where GB and family lived? Built by Cox for himself and his family (wife and 2 daughters who were called Trisha and Debbie) then sold to GB and family – you probably know the rest of the history better than we do

-
What was it like living there and in WW? It was quiet, great for wildlife. There was always a great sense of community. It was also well supplied with visiting traders in the “old days”. There was a butcher, baker fishmonger and grocery store that all visited once a week, plus a milkman and paper delivery
-
Any info you might think is useful and / or interesting. We were told that Mr Boothway (Colin possibly?) was a retired professional footballer for Manchester city
