We are pleased to announce that our Annual Church Fete will be taking place this year following the relaxation of lockdown requirements. Many of the favourite attractions will be taking place. There are a variety of competitions (more details at the bottom of this page). New this year is the Derek Webber Cup. This cup is for the person who gains the most points at the fete competitions in the Parish Hall. There will be 4,3,2,1, points for first, second, third and highly commended and these will be totalled, with the most points confirming a cup winner. We look forward to seeing you there.

The very popular Monthly Sunday Community Brunch which has been provided for seven years had to be suspended while the Hall has been closed due to COVID-19 legal requirements and national guidance.

You are warmly invited to a complete reading of Mark’s Gospel, at West Worlington Church on Saturday 25 September, starting at 2:00 pm. After 18 months or so in which life has been fragmented by the necessary restrictions associated with Covid-19, here is a chance to hear the full story of good news read by members of the congregation. The reading will take around two hours. There will also be a short interval, as well as refreshments at the end.

The Worlington Craft Group is starting on Monday 20th September 2021 between 2.00pm and 4.00pm in East Worlington Parish Hall. We are a friendly, happy group. While we do craft work you do not need to be doing craft work. You could just bring along mending or knitting if you prefer. Have a cup of tea and biscuits, meet new people, and have a chat.

As a Parish Hall Committee, we are pleased and excited to restart the popular Monthly Community Sunday Brunch on 12th September. While national COVID legal restrictions have been lifted we are very aware we are still living in a worldwide environment with COVID very much an issue.

Community Nativity Exhibition 2020 With the challenges created by coronavirus the Church Warden initiated a way community members could celebrate Nativity. Residents were invited to put a Nativity display outside their properties. A great response illustrated in the photo gallery below. Well done to all who participated and all those who enjoyed the activity.

This event is aimed at our community with the aim of celebrating the Parish Hall achievement of Hallmark 1, 2, and 3. This event was postponed due to Coronavirus and will be rescheduled.

At the May meeting of East Worlington Parish Hall Committee, the committee discussed and planned the reopening of the Hall following its closure due to COVID-19. The committee considered government guidance and legislation and aim to ensure compliance. A programme of activities from September to December was agreed. This programme is outlined on the following document. We are all looking forward to the reopening of the Hall and supporting the activities and events held there.

Devon Historic Churches Day 2020 incorporating Ride and Stride Every year Devon Historic Churches Trust hold a Devon Historic Churches Day which includes a Ride and Stride activity encouraging as many people as possible to visit different churches partly to appreciate their architecture and partly to gain sponsorship to support church funds. This year the day is Saturday 12th September and while the Day is still scheduled the Ride and Stride activity is very much affected by coronavirus. Worlington churches have been long time supporters of the event and while parishioners are encouraged to offer support for the event and donations to the cause, East Worlington and West Worlington churches will not be open.
