Message dated at 04 February 2021 Households across the nation will soon be asked to take part in Census 2021 . The Census is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941. The Census is a snapshot of who we are and how we live our lives. The information is vital for assessing community needs for services such as schools and Doctors surgeries as well as how our communities are made up and changing. Census weekend is the 21 March, however keep your eyes peeled for the Census postcard which is expected through your letter boxes between 21-25 February. It is really important everyone takes part. Census 2021 have made it easier for people to do online, through any device, with help (if in need) and paper questionnaires are available for those who prefer them. Results will be available within 12 months, although personal records will be locked away for 100 years, kept safe for future generations. For more information please visit their website – www.census.gov.uk For updates you can follow Census 2021 on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Linkedin. #Census2021 |

Primary School PTFA Lottery
About East Worlington PTFAEast Worlington Primary School have an active Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) . More information can be found on the school’s website . Our PTFA is an integral part of the school community and over the last 5 years we have raised thousands of pounds to support the purchase of equipment and resources to enhance our children’s educational experience and the school’s facilities, and also to subsidise school trips, pay for leavers’ gifts, the wonderful new garden provision and so much more. Our association is about much more than simply fundraising. The PTFA exists to provide closer links between home and school and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially, working towards a common goal. It is fun too – just ask any of the Committee members or volunteers. All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time available. All families are automatically members of the PTFA when their child joins our school. Here is a message from the EWPS Lottery Coordinator‘Please help enhance the education of local children in your community by supporting the new East Worlington Primary School lottery, which launches in the new year. Improve Your Cyber Security By Taking Six Actions
|
Due to coronavirus, more people will be doing their festive shopping online this year. This means more opportunities for hackers to carry out cyber attacks. They often do this by targeting people and businesses using:
You can improve your cyber security by taking six actions:1 – Use a strong and separate password for your email If a hacker gets into your email, they could:
2 – Create strong passwords using 3 random words When you use different passwords for your important accounts, it can be hard to remember them all. A good way to create strong, memorable passwords is by using 3 random words. Do not use words that can be guessed (like your pet’s name). You can include numbers and symbols if you need to. For example, “RedPantsTree4!” 3 – Save your passwords in your browser Saving your password in your browser means letting your web browser (such as Chrome, Safari or Edge) remember your password for you. This can help:
It is safer than using weak passwords, or using the same password in more than one place. 4 – Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) Two-factor authentication (2FA) helps to stop hackers from getting into your accounts, even if they have your password. 5 – Update your devices Out-of-date software, apps, and operating systems contain weaknesses. This makes them easier to hack. Companies fix the weaknesses by releasing updates. When you update your devices and software, this helps to keep hackers out. 6 – Back up your data Backing up means creating a copy of your information and saving it to another device or to cloud storage (online). Backing up regularly means you will always have a recent version of your information saved. This will help you recover quicker if your data is lost or stolen.
